n o e l l e can you take me back to the person i used to be back when you were there for me i know it seems like forever but do me this favor please
Noelle had been in town for a few weeks now, and but she hadn't really left her apartment much since she had been here, besides going to work. She was just trying to get things all nice and organized in her place, and it was taking a lot longer than expected. However, she was finally finished, and she decided to go for a little drive. That drive broguht her to the beach, and the absoluetly amazing sunset had drawn her to it. So the tiny girl got out of her car, closed the door, then started towards the sand. It was a rather mild winter night, but still... It was cold. It was probably snowing back home, where her parents were living, but she really didn't mind; she hated the snow, and that was why she moved away.
With a small pout, she placed herself down in the cool sand, and she pulled her gray jacket with a satin inside, just because her cute white babydoll dress wasn't exactly appropriate for the weather. It was more like a night gown than it was a dress. Looking at the sunset's gorgeous... Color made her kind of sad, to be quite honest. I mean, in the past... five years she had tons of boyfriends, but one was special; one was the one she had planned on being with forever. They would always sit outside and watch the sunset, and sometimes, if they were awake that early, they'd even watch the sunrise together. It was probably the most romantic thing ever. He was the guy that gave her her first kiss, took her virginity, and said 'I love you' to her for the first time. Yes, that young man happened to be Zander
Everything was so perfect. They were even talking marriage after high school was over. They were absolutely crazy for each other, and she thought that they were going to last; she thought that nothing could pull them apart. Except one day, when she came home from school in her junior year, her mother broke the news to her: they were moving. No matter how much Noelle cried, kicked, and screamed, there was nothing she could do to change her parents' minds, and she eventually had to face the fact that she'd be leaving her high school sweetheart.
Their goodbye was probably the most difficult thing she ever had to go through. She was absolutely heartbroken, and she even suggested that they could run away, just so they could be together. But eventually, she had to leave. She remembered as she walked away (backwards, of course), she kept eye contact with him, even though she was bawling her eyes out and she could barely stand. The poor thing was a mess. And what was the last thing she said? 'I love you, Zander Walker. And I promise I'll find you one day; I promise I'll come back to you somehow.' Although she had been totally and completely broken apart and she slept for about a month straight, she eventually moved on and got some new friends, and even tried to date a few guys. Of course, nothing was all that serious, because she was still planning to go back to her boy.
With a pathetic little frown, she hugged her knees to her chest, and kind of just snuggled up under her blanket. Ugh. Now she was just having an awful day.

Zander jammed his hands in his pockets. He was probably having the worst day he'd had in ages. All his clothes were in the wash, and he had spilt milk all over his only clean pants, which led to him digging violently through his spare cupboard only to find some really old pair of pants that he hadn't worn since like... high school. Not wanting to walk around in filthy pants, he had pulled them on. They were a little small for him, but they'd have to do for the day. He wasn't in the mood to do any washing.
To top it all off, he had lost his wallet somewhere, as well as his car keys. He knew they were both inside the house, but that was what scared him most. He probably had more chance of finding them outside than inside. So after a very short and rushed search, he just left without them. Since he had stayed out so late last night, he had slept until four. Disgusted with himself for doing so, he made his way to the beach. Walking briskly, trying to shake off all the bad vibes. He noticed that as he passed an elderly couple, they stared at him awkwardly. Yep, his pants must have been too tight. And the fact that he was wearing a really big leather jacket probably emphasized the fact nicely for the outside world, he growled. Just perfect.
Luckily, there was nobody on the beach, and it was kind of misty. He walked along the shoreline for a while, listening to the gentle crash of the waves and looking down at his checkered vans. Far off in the distance he could see a little oddity on the sand. Maybe a piece of driftwood or some sort of beached thing. He squinted, sure that he had seen the color pink.
As he neared, he looked up again, noticing that it was a person. He sighed. He wasn't in the mood for company now, so hopefully it wasn't someone he knew. His mood wasn't going to go towards positive conversation. He drew his hand quickly out of his pocket to flick a piece of hair out of the way, and then shoved it back in. Something touched his fingertips, and he dug to get hold of it. It was just an old piece of paper. He was going to toss it to the side when he noticed his own scrawling handwriting. He opened it, going cold, despite his actual warmth.
Zander x Noelle ,, foreverrrrr.
He had tried so hard not to think of her. But it never proved easy. She was on his mind all the time, and he had only recently been able to block out the beautiful image of her face, her smile. He folded the paper and tucked it neatly back into his pocket. He knew it was foolish, but he would always cling to her promise that one day she'd come back for him. Noelle was the love of his life, and he knew it.
He looked up once more, he was nearly four meters from the person he had seen earlier, and as he saw their face, he froze, not believing it for one second. What kind of irony was this? Was this some sort of sick joke? The longer he stared, the more apparent it became. She was really there in front of him. More beautiful than ever. A stabbing, jolting feeling of electricity shuddered through him and he felt his eyes widen and his mouth drop open slightly. He found it impossible to hold himself back.
"Noelle!" His voice broke loose in one clear, joyous, yell. He burst forwards and in an easy movement he lifted her into his arms, twirling her around and around until he actually imagined getting a little dizzy. He held her tight, in actual fact he didn't want to let her go, ever again. He was already afraid that he'd lose her once more.

God, Noelle really, really missed Zander. The more she thought about him, the worse the pain was. Every guy she had ever been with was compared to that guy, and none of them seemed to measure up to him. Zander was the only guy she could ever see herself being with, and that would never change. Even if she ended up with another man, he would still be her one and only; her penguin. Their love was totally and completely special, and she just couldn't stand being away from him. She had tried calling him, but his number was different. She also went to his old house to visit him, but apparently he had moved. Of course his band made it big, and she remembered watching him on TV and practically melting every time she heard his voice. Every time his band toured, she'd go to every show she possibly could within a three hour radius, but she still didn't get to see him up close.
So eventually, she gave up. If they were really meant to be together, then they would find each other again, and they would spend the rest of their lives together. She was a strong believer in fate, and soon she was going to believe in it even more. It was so weird how it seemed like yesterday, when they were always together. The two had never been apart in the two years they were together, and surprisingly, he was the one boy that Noelle's parents approved of. Sure, he was a bit rough around the edges, but they knew that he was a total sweetheart, and he treated their daughter like absolute gold. She remembered when they got each other promise rings, and when they promised each other that they'd be together forever. Noelle still hadn't taken it off, and she never planned on it; it was a gorgeous, yet simple ring, and it really meant a lot to her.
Honestly, she didn't notice the figure approaching her right away. Well, she did, but it took her a moment to register it. Just by the way it moved, there was something oddly familiar, and she squinted a bit, as if that would help her make out what it was. And of course, when she saw that dark hair, and that flawless face, her heart practically stopped beating, and she froze. She couldn't move at all, and she didn't until he had her up in his arms. The poor thing was in so much shock, that she didn't even know what to do. So she simply put her arms around his neck, wrapped her legs around his middle, buried her face into his shoulder, and cried. In the past two and a half years, she had never felt so complete; so whole. Whether she wanted to admit it or not, Zander was the center of her universe, and a couple of years without him was like a couple of years without sunshine. And believe me, he was missed.
And if she didn't believe in a god before (which she did), she sure as hell believe in it now. She was meant to move here; she was meant to go down to the beach today. It was probably the sweetest moment of her life, being reunited with her sweetheart on the beach, during the sunset. Her face was finally raised from his shoulder, and she gazed down into those gorgeous eyes of his, a few of her tears dripping off of her chin and jaw and onto his shirt. He had no idea on how much she had missed him, and she wasn't even sure if she could express how much she missed him; she didn't know if there were enough words for her to gather to explain it. Finally, however, she leaned in and pressed a soft kiss to his lips, but that kiss lingered for a bit, just because it felt so, so nice to just... Taste him again. One arm detached itself from its neck so she could place a hand on his cheek, and when she pulled away, she smiled weakly. She probably looked so ridiculous, crying like a baby like that. "I told you I'd come back for you."

Zander had slowly learnt to live without Noelle. It hadn’t been easy, but with time he’d got it right. Every now and then he’d find himself too depressed to do anything, and on those days he just lay in bed, nostalgic over all of their memories together. Shedding a silent tear or two and writing some of the best songs he’d ever produced. He hated people seeing him like that, since he was so afraid of showing his true colors. If anyone came by, if anyone ever called, he’d just pretend he wasn’t there. It was as simple as that. He didn’t trust anyone enough to let them try to help him. Only Noelle. And he knew somehow, that no matter how hard anyone tried, he was beyond help. There was a part of him that would always be with her, and he’d never be the same without it. The phrase ‘you complete me’ made a lot of sense when it came to his relationship with her.
It had been half a year since Zander had seen her beautiful face, and it felt like he’d been shot in the stomach. That tingling, petrified sensation had welled up inside him, and it didn’t go away. It felt a little bit like the first time he had met her, only much much more passionate. In his mind, she was the only one for him. When they had lost contact, he was positive that he’d never settle down, that he’d never get into another serious relationship again. It just felt so wrong to him. It felt like he was, in some way, betraying her. There had been times that he had shared with other girls, but he didn’t feel anything for them, he was just passing the time.
Previously, when his band was still going strong, he could have had his pick at a huge variety of beautiful girls. But that was just it; they were all girls. Noelle was a woman. She was special beyond any of them. At one stage, he had pulled a supermodel up on stage with him, and sure, he’d kissed her, but just for the publicity. Afterwards he had laughed about it. Alone, of course, because the laughter soon switched to hysteria. Nothing was the same as it had been; his whole life was affected by her absence. At times, he swore he had seen her in the crowds, but when he squinted and tried to get a better view, he couldn’t see anyone who looked remotely like her. She gave him heartache that supposedly made him sing well enough. Scream well enough…
Zander could have lost days, years, without her. Just lying there in bed wallowing in his misery, and looking at their pictures. He was always shutter happy when he was around her, so luckily, he had a lot of photographs of her. He tried not to look at them that much, but it was hard, since he refused to move them any farther than his bedside table. When she had said she was coming back for him, he had believed her. He would have hung on every word she said. But then her parents took her away. He can remember exactly what it was like when she left. They had practically dragged her away, and he had run as far as he could have beside the car, yelling out all the things he had forgotten to say, eventually tripping over his own feet and skidding on his shoulder to a painful halt.
Now, everything seemed ok. All the pain and all the heartache seemed to ease as he breathed in the sweet scent of her hair. He might have been trembling, had his body not been so tense, holding her so tightly to himself. For once in his life, he didn’t care if anyone saw him crying, he was just too damn happy to hold it in. When their lips touched, it felt like the whole world was swirling around him, until it was just him and Noelle. Just the two of them, and nothing else mattered. He slipped his lower arm underneath her, holding her weight with no difficulty and letting his other hand free to cup her chin gently. He stroked away the tears, gingerly, feeling his own run down his face. He could feel his heartbeat slow gradually as he stared into her beautiful eyes. He couldn’t help the smile that was probably bigger than his face; he just couldn’t express himself in any way. No words, and no action could possibly compare to what he was feeling.
“I didn’t doubt you for a second.” He whispered, brushing a strand of hair out her face. If had a choice, he wouldn’t be anywhere else in the world right now. He was here with her and that was all that mattered. The world could end tomorrow, as long as he had Noelle. As long as they were together.

Basically, Zander was stuck with Noelle for life now. There was no way she'd ever leave his side, just because she'd be terrified that he'd be out of her life if he was away from her. She was so ridiculously attached and in love with him.... It was kind of pathetic, actually. He was the best thing that ever happened to her, and if she had to choose between anything in the universe and Zander, she'd choose him. He was her universe: the air she breathed, the single reason for waking up in the morning, the amazing sunshine she soaked up. She was totally, totally lost without his love, and she didn't know how she had even managed to survive those few years. There were definitely a ton of tears, a ton of sleeping, and quite a few anti-depressants. Unlike Zander, she didn't really have any way to let out her sadness; all she could do was lay in bed and cry for days at a time.
On their anniversaries, she'd be even more pathetic than she was any other day. She'd just lay in her room, go through their old pictures, and listen to Zander's band. Then she'd cry for a few hours, then just lay in bed and mope for the rest of the week. It was absolutely awful, and she didn't even know how she made it through; she really didn't. Maybe she just held onto the idea of her being reunited with the young man, and she was extremely thankful that she was reunited with him; she was thankful that she had been able to keep her promise, just because she wouldn't be able to live with the guilt if she had kept him waiting forever. I mean, she had tried her best, but it just never exactly worked out, seeing how every time she went to a show, he wouldn't be in the mood to meet fans, so she'd kind of just linger outside the bus/van area for awhile, then finally go home in the wee hours of the morning.
"I'm never leaving you again. I promise... I'm so sorry." Her hands were placed on his cheeks and she wiped his tears away, before she rubbed her nose against his. She remembered how totally empty she felt when they were driving away, and she remembered how her heart sank when she looked back and saw him running after her. It was absolutely heartbreaking, and she cried the entire drive to their new town. Her parents had received the silent treatment for a good month or so, as well. And now that she was back with him, all she wanted to do was go home, have sex, and lay in bed for a few hours like they always did. Her feelings were so intense right now, that she just wanted to 'catch up' on things right then and there. However, it was a bit cold out for htat, but they were always willing to try different things. After letting out one last happy sob, she squirmed out of his grip and let her hands slide up the front of his shirt, cold hands rested against his pale skin. Everything about this guy was perfect; it wasn't fair.
"I love you so much, Zander Matthew Walker. So, so much. I-I tried to come find you; I'd go to your shows when you were near, but I never got to talk to you... I was your biggest fan, I swear. And I still am." Life had suddenly taken a turn for the better.

An odd feeling surrounded him. He felt whole again, and not only that, he felt a really strong sense of pride and devotion. She was his life now, and he would never let her out of his sight again. There was no way in hell he'd ever let her go. For a while he thought out a small plan... He'd drive her to her place, so she could pick up some clothes, and then take her back home. She could stay there the weekend. It would be just like old times. Fuck... His mind whined. He had completely forgotten that he had walked here. His car was still safely in his driveway, untouched. Curses that he couldn't have had the patience to actually look for his car keys. He rolled his eyes at his own stupidity.
"Noelle... Don't be sorry. You did nothing wrong, baby." He was just too happy to even think of the time that they had, when they were apart. He was alive now, this was their moment. And it was going to last for a very long time, and he'd make sure of it, if it was the last thing he ever did. He had the present, he had her, and he had their future together. Amazingly, it was all of a sudden very easy to suppress the past. He couldn't help but smile through all the tears that were still pouring down his face. This was by far the happiest moment in his life, he knew that for sure. He absolutely loved being close to her, he loved her smile, her touch, the way she rubbed her nose against his, everything about her was so cute, so perfect. So Noelle. To him, she was actually beyond perfect. She was a league in her own. And she was his now... Once again. It felt to fucking good to be reunited with the person that his heart beat for.
"I love you too Noelle. I love you and I'm never going to leave you." He grinned as she mentioned being her biggest fan. He could believe that. "Babe... I didn't bring my car... And seriously, as much as I love the beach, it's getting cold.." He lowered her gently onto the ground, taking off his jacket and draping it around her slender shoulders. "I would offer to carry you back to my place?" He smiled, placing his hand under her chin and tilting her face upwards so that he could kiss her soft lips again. Truth be told. Zander could never get enough of Noelle.

Now Noelle knew she could die happy. She was back with the love of her life, and she wouldn't have it any other way. This was the definition of true love, and she wanted to be with the guy for the rest of her life. And she had decided that if he died, she would completely give up on everything and possibly even kill herself. Because she said that they'd be together for eternity. She remembered how when they were laying in bed, she'd tell him that if he died before her, she would kill herself as soon as she found out. And she promised him that she'd never move on when she moved away, and now she felt as if god was smiling down on her, and possibly him. The first month or so that they were apart, she would cry and pray that he'd be returned to her.
He gave the sweetest kisses ever. Her heart would always skip a beat for a split second, and she'd feel like she was in heaven. But she believed that heaven wasn't a place; it was a place where total satisfaction is obtained. And right now, she felt like she had grown wings and a halo, and she felt as if they were on their own little cloud. Life had never been this good, and she was absolutely terrified that this was all just one amazing, surreal dream; it was almost too good to be true.
When he offered to take her back to his place, she nodded, her cheeks flushing a little bit. She knew that this meant that their emotions would run wild, but she honestly didn't mind; they had a ton of catching up to do. Her eyes fluttered shut when he kissed her, and she stepped a bit closer to him. "I never want to be away from you ever again. I promise that we'll together forever, but if that's not what you want, that's okay too." It was always so much fun when he carried her, and she remembered when they were home alone and had date night, he'd sweep her off of her feet and carry her upstairs... And you know the rest. He always picked her up like she was weightless, but that was actually rather convenient; that was why she had loved being so tiny. But at the same time, she hated being tiny.
I mean, being tiny meant she could never kiss Zander while they were standing, unless he picked her up of bent over, which hurt his back sometimes. Also, there was the bedroom factor, where he always had to worry about squishing her, and she'd have to yell at him a few times before he actually decided to get on top of her. Beaming, she jumped up and placed her arms and legs around his neck and middle, then pressed a few kisses to his soft, pink lips. "Carry me, please. You know the drill."

"Of course it's what I want." He chuckled, kissing her. "I want to be with you... Noelle..." He kissed her again. "For..." Again. "Eternity." Once again. "Because I love you so damn much, I'd die a million times for you... Each death more painful than the last." He stroked her cheek with the back of his hand absently as he gazed into her eyes. He was glad his own waterworks had stopped, otherwise he really would have looked a little odd.
He grinned brightly as she wrapped herself around him. Yeah, he knew the drill. But amazingly he hadn't even thought about sex yet. All he wanted to do was make sure that she'd never leave his side again. He wanted her at his home, so she could just be there with him. He was petrified she would leave again, but a part of him was sure that she wouldn't. This was like writing something in stone. He knew he'd never break his promises to her. But if she wanted to leave him one day, he would have no choice but to let her. He loved her too much to keep her against her will.
He could carry her all the way home with ease. She probably had a fragile bone structure... He kissed her cheek as they made their way slowly off of the beach. It wasn't a far walk, and even if it was, he wouldn't have cared. Just staring into her eyes was amazing. He was lucky he had sure footing, otherwise he'd have to watch where he was walking. But he'd been here for ages. He knew the place like the back of his hands, and he probably hadn't fallen since fifth grade.
One shifted glance to the right and he knew he was home. His car was so black it would stand out in a world made of coal. He carried her effortlessly to the front door, putting her down gently and opening the door for her. "Welcome home...' It just felt like the right thing to say.

As they walked home, Noelle kind of just rambled on about how much she had missed him, and how much she loved the guy. It was absolutely gorgeous out, and she couldn't wait to sit outside with him in a blankie and one of his sweaters. She'd always make some hot chocolate in the winter, and they'd always wish for snow, just so they could build a snow man and such. Also, once, just because they wanted snow, they went on a little skiing trip, even though neither of them could ski, and they just at outside and built snowmen. Where she moved, it snowed like hell in the winter, and she always considered calling him and inviting him to come see her, but every time, she chickened out; he was probably mad at her, and didn't want to have anything to do with her anymore. But now that she knew he had missed her as much as she had missed him, she kind of regretted not calling him; she regretted not telling him to come visit for awhile.
There was no doubt that Noelle would never, ever leave him again. He didn't even know how much pain she had been in, and if he did, he would never even think about worrying. He was stuck with her for life whether he liked it or not. "I'm still wearing the ring, Zander," She said softly, before looking down at the little promise ring. It obviously wasn't worth much; they didn't exactly have all that much money back in high school. But she didn't really mind... As long as she was with him, she didn't care. I mean, she liked being spoiled by guys and everything, but any guy that did that didn't really offer as much love as Zander did. She never needed to ask him if he loved her, because she knew he did. And even when they were broken up, she still knew that he loved her because of his song lyrics. She knew that many of their sad love songs were about her; she never even doubted it.
The walk really wasn't as long as she thought it was be, which was kind of a bad thing. She never, ever wanted him to leave her sight again, and she was never going to leave his. In fact, she was never going to leave him in general. The apartment was absolutely adorable, and she figured that it needed a woman's touch. It wasn't as messy as her apartment, and she was comfortable right away. Of course, she pouted when he put her down, but she sautered around the area, her lips curled into a smile "I like it here," She whispered, hands being placed on his chest. "Where's your bedroom? Can we go lay down?" Of course, laying down meant something more than that, but whatever. And without waiting for an answer, she pranced off down the hall and into his room. The fact that there were pictures of her in there made her smile, and she collapsed onto his bed on the usual side she laid on, her face buried into his pillow. God, it even smelled like him; his scent was the best one in the world. There was honestly no way she could ever leave ever again.

His heart jumped as she mentioned their rings. He smiled, and raised her hands to his lips and kissed each finger separately. The way he felt about her was so amazing, and every second the feeling got stronger. He had thought that she had forgotten about him over time, he had actually hoped that for her, so that she wouldn't suffer like he did. But it seems that they were both in the same boat for a long time, and he was just so glad she was back with him. The fact that she was still wearing the ring made him nearly burst with pride. She was beautiful, she was talented and amazing in every possible way, and she had remembered him. He knew that it wasn't by coincidence either, that she was wearing the thin silver band. How would she have possibly known that she would see him today? Noelle had been wearing the ring since they'd left each other. He was almost sure about it. The though nearly brought more tears to his eyes, but he held them back, just because they'd blur his beautiful view of her.
She seemed to adjust nicely to his new apartment, and Zander grinned as she darted about the place in her fairy like manner. He knew that it wouldn't be long until she would tidy up the place properly and even redecorate a little. Noelle was very much into her 'woman's touch', and she had done some rearranging his old house too. Well... His room, since he had still lived with his father at the time. At first he thought it was odd, what she was doing, but then he started to love it. In every way, whatever she did would always remind him of her when she wasn't there. He loved the subtle little memento's that she left him with. He couldn't actually wait for her to get her hands into his new place.
He chuckled as she asked for directions to his bedroom. She was seemed eager... Before he even had time to answer her, she was off again, skimming down his hallway and straight into his room. He followed slowly, his hands in his pockets, a smile stuck to his features. For a moment or so he stood in the doorway, just looking at her in awe. He had never felt so calm, so serene, in a long time. It was like she never left him. Slowly, he made his way to the bed, drawing his hands from his pockets and trying to douse the flames of his smile. His facial muscles were actually starting to hurt. He sat down on the bed, next to her, running a hand down her shoulder and to her lower back, then up and down once again. It was a light touch, soft. He just wanted to appreciate her for a while. It had been such a long time since he had seen her, and the fact that she was here with him now was sill settling in.
For a few minutes, he just stroked her arms, her hair, staring at her. She was the most amazing and breath-taking sight he'd ever see, and he ever would see. There was no doubt in his mind that Noelle was the most exquisite woman in the entire universe. As he ran his fingers gently down her arm once more, he interlocked his fingers with his. "I'm so glad we found each other again. Noelle... I don't know where I'd have ended up. I found it impossible to love anyone else." He actually did know where he'd have landed one day. He'd have been a dead beat drug addict, with no life, no family, no love left in the world, always wandering unto where his Noelle might be. Always searching for someone so special, with the constant fear of never being able to find her. The thought terrified him.
